The excursions I plan are a dream. Oftentimes, I have to tear myself away from the desk at the end of the day, continuously enthralled with moments and ideas. The hours of research, the one-on-one consultations, and the global partners (who often become friends) — all stem from my innate love of people and learning.
Before becoming a luxury travel planner, I was an educator for 15 years — helping students navigate their emotional and educational paths. Many of my clients crave the same shift that comes from the simple act of learning something new. Now, it might be a pasta class in the generations-old home of an Italian family or a private tour of an Egyptian tomb.

I’m a sentimental type — known for bringing home traditions from everywhere we go. Consequently, our family enjoys an annual paella party and midsummer bonfire, for example. I’m an educator, lifelong learner, and cappuccino-fueled morning person (mostly so I can check in with my European network). I have a playlist for each country I plan for and collect scents from each destination I visit — making it easy to feel like I’m back there again. One of my favorites is incense from Park City (think pinewood, moss, fire).
When I travel, the goal is to either scope out every last nook and cranny (and meet the local experts) or to take my family along — and even the dog — so that we might enjoy an adventure just for us. It’s shaped my children into who they are, something I consider every time a family trusts me to plan a trip of their own.

The founder
A French speaker (having summered for two years in Paris) and artist at heart who sees the world with rose-colored glasses, Bailey studied at Florida State University and has two bachelor degrees: Communication and French.
She supports the worldwide work of Mer Bleue with marketing, itinerary research, social media, and more. Bailey still remembers her first trip outside of the US with its own a-ha moment. She was awed by the different ways of living — what people cared about, how they dressed, the way they spoke. It brings her joy to be a part of moments like that for others — drawn to the intersection of cultures, art, and history.
